Brand new structure, large and equipped rooms, strategic location 15 minutes walk from the center and the port of Madalena. The reception ladies very nice and helpful. We couldn't find any flaws!

Situated on Madalena, Pico Island, Caravelas is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on 3 sides and overlooks Faial Island. It features an outdoor pool, a 24-hour reception, and car rental. We had a nice and comfortable room with a little basket of fruits for your welcome. The room had a nice balcony with a view to the harbour and Faial. In a minute you can reach the harbour and the city centre. There is a cleaning service everyday (if you need it). The breakfast buffet is really big and has a lot of offerings (they even had soy milk and milk without lactose; lots of bread, ham, cheese, cereals with different seeds, lots of fruits, many cakes, eggs, beans and so on...). The staff is very polite. We are not used to big hotels and normally stay at smaller/simpler places so we missed nothing at all.

The experience of one big happy family of travelers. Especially on my first solo trip I was welcomed with open arms, good suggestions for what to do and a very nice hostel dinner/breakfast

We had a wonderful stay at Casa do Mar. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Relaxing atmosphere and beautiful view of the sea and Faial island on one side, and of Mount Pico on the other. Hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Ideal location - walkable distance from Madalena center and from several natural pools, and a 10-minute drive from the airport. The breakfast is fresh and delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would absolutely recommend!

Fantastic location at the harbor and right at the promenade. Gorgeous view of Pico mountain and the sunset. Amazing private terrace. The owner stocked up our fridge and we had more than enough food. Owner very helpful and overall great communication. Spacious apartment with everything you could need. Very clean and kept very well. Beautiful restaurant and bakery in town. Always enough parking available.

The house was absolutely wonderful, as in every image you might have from books or movies. José had everything immaculate and was super kind with all our needs. We felt like we had just entered a different world or living a dream… We even had some welcome offers that delighted us: cheese, wine and a marvelous home baked lemon cake. This is the place to stay! I absolutely can’t give enough accolades to address the property and owner. Everything was superior, and I would highly recommend this cottage! Pico Island is amazing, of course, and the cottage captures the essence of the land and the people. Made from lava rocks and stunning local wood, whoever designed the cottages here had vision. The owner was marvelous and kept in touch with us as we approached our time in Pico. Also, a thankful shout-out to the amazing women who run the local grocery store - you’ll find it as it’s the only one - as they made calls on our behalf and loaded us up with delicious bread, fruit, and cheese made nearby. 10 stars out of five for it all!!
