Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in ligger i et 1000 år gammelt buddhistisk tempel og kan tilbyde indkvartering i japansk stil, smuk have samt gratis wi-fi. The location, room, garden has awesome atmosphere- I loved the meditation session and the fire ritual! We stayed for two nights and took evening cemetery tour which was informative and mysterious at the same time! Dinners are superb! I booked family room for two of us and it was great and spacious. I would recommend this place for anyone interested in Buddhism or with appreciation of esoteric teachings. Staff is caring and attentive!

清浄心院 is situated in Koyasan, 45 km from Matsushita Park, 47 km from Subaru Hall, and 49 km from Jigenin Temple. It is set 39 km from Kishi Station and features full-day security. I have stayed in quite a few places in Japan but this is my favorite for so many reasons: - You are staying in a temple monastery and you can see and feel that everywhere. You are staying in a piece of history. - the graveyard is one minute walking away (I went there three times in different times of the day) - you get a free tour of temple, can attend the morning prayer and a fire ceremony - the staff was super kind and some spoke very good English - I could check in early - the food is something very different than usual - there is an Onsen instead of a traditional shower room (bathing hours are limited see below) - the wifi is good

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 祇園の宿 杏花 is located in Kyoto, 300 metres from Gion Shijo Station and 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. The room si beautiful old Japanese style room, bed was very comfortable, amenities are generous and various. The location is perfect, near to accommodation in the center of the famous gion district. Hosts are very kind and fully available. We spent a wonderful stay.

Shirahama no Yado Daigo ligger i Shirahama, under 200 meter fra Shirahama-stranden og 1,2 km fra Ezura Strand. Der tilbydes gratis WiFi overalt på ejendommen. The hostess (who's also the owner) was a very nice and friendly person. Breakfast was complimentary and the hostess even made breakfast by herself to guests every morning and it was delicious! The room is equipped with tatami floor and was super clean. There was no bed but instead futon was provided and you need to set it up by yourself at night which was interesting. It was a special experience to get a chance to sleep in a Japanese futon. If you don't know how to set it up they will help you too. The bathroom is big and equipments were new. The hotel is within 5 minutes walk to the beach. It's also close to a bus stop which takes you to surrounding sightseeing places. There are convenient store and supermarket within walking distance and you can buy fireworks there to play at the beach at night. If we come back to Shirahama in the future we will choose to stay here again.

Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. ligger i Kyoto, 2 km fra Nijo Slot, og har restaurant, have og udsigt over haven. Spent the night here in Kyoto and wish I had booked another one! The staff is very friendly, prompt and kindly let us leave our bags before check-in and after check-out. The dinner option was also spectacular, with fluent english staff and a great pace to have a wagyu tasting.
